Inclusifit

Organized by Swavlamban Foundation, Inclusifit is an initiative dedicated to designing adaptive clothing for individuals with progressive disabilities, neurological disorders, mobility issues, and muscular weakness issues. The project aims to bridge the gap in everyday inclusivity, ensuring that clothing—an essential aspect of daily life—is not a barrier but a source of comfort, dignity, and style.

While architectural accessibility solutions like ramps and elevators are widely recognized, adaptive fashion remains an overlooked challenge. InclusiFit seeks to address this by developing functional yet fashionable clothing tailored to the specific needs of individuals facing mobility constraints.

How it started?

The Inclusifit project began with a vision to promote inclusivity and accessibility in fashion through adaptive clothing. Recognizing the need for garments tailored to individuals with varying physical abilities, the project launched a series of strategic engagement initiatives to build awareness, gather community insights, and foster participation from across India.

The engagement phase commenced with an awareness and research campaign in November, followed by an online project launch in December, and extended into January with calls for an online internship and a Fashion designing competition. These initiatives were designed to involve diverse stakeholders, including individuals with disabilities, aspiring designers, and inclusion advocates to collaboratively drive the mission of inclusive fashion forward.
